Held in the Austin neighborhood at BUILD’s campus\, this all-day event will include: \n\nPanel discussion led by our West Side reporter\, Michael Liptrot\, on the future of work on the West Side\nResume review and coaching station offering one-on-one feedback\nMock interview station to help attendees practice and build confidence\nSpeed networking sessions\, creating space for small local businesses and/or hiring employers to connect with job seekers\nFinancial coaching and literacy resources\, offering guidance on budgeting\, credit\, savings\, and long-term financial stability\nProfessional attire closet\, offering free work-ready clothing and styling support\nProfessional headshots to help participants prepare for applications and online profiles (LinkedIn)\n\nFrom SNAP benefit cuts to trade training programs to financial coaching\, Block Club Chicago’s neighborhood reporting has uplifted many opportunities as well as challenges Chicagoans are encountering in the workforce. The West Side of Chicago is a particular hub of workforce development growth\, following decades of disinvestment and barriers. Now\, join us and dozens of community partners offering workforce-related resources in this community-powered event and get involved. \nAhead of the event\, we will send a form to all registered attendees to sign up for the mock interviews\, resume reviews\, and headshots.
